Chains& Fur

This is one of my very first shoots which was done while I was still attending fashion school. I am constantly inspired by all my beautiful friends, I tend to find beauty and style within random events and scenes, typical is not my point of interest. This shoot was based around a few key components to create not only a look but an entire feeling. As a student I had to be resourceful with many of my projects as students often must be. In this shoot my main point of interest was my beautiful model/friend/roomy and a very random piece of rabbit fur given to me by one of my favourite profs, accompanied by fabric and a chain (why not) the look set off a certain seventies bad ass glam feel. Love it or leave it this look is one of my favourites hands down!

It didn't take long to find a perfect outfit from my models closet. After a mear five second gaze my shimmered eyes took a liking to this metalic gold never been worn dress,(Cinderella) it was her moment to shine. I wanted to have a shoe that would add harmony to the look without running away with center stage. These camel peep toe oxford pumps sitting in my models closet were crying out to do something fantastic.(Hush) In order to keep this look simple and chic it only took two unique pieces that could shine and hold charachter making this look a golden child.

My beautiful friend/model Jen has a look that can be so sweet and yet so mysterious at the same time. I incorporated her half eaten giant birthday cupcake to draw out the sweet side. Using a sexy short vintage flapper dress (H&M) under a vintage blue silk jacket drew out the sexy and mysterious. I couldn’t decide on the shoes so I used two of my top choices a sparkly peep toed flat I purchased while I was in Greece, and a strappy leather heel. The contrast in shoes tells the whole story of the shoot simple and sweet vs. sexy sleek, how’s a girl to decided between the two.

So I am totally obsessed with this look! Catherine was amazing to shoot with since she can make any look her own. I love the color content involved in this shoot it’s all over the place, scattered is my organized. I styled with a vintage 80’s blouse and a tutu from the L.A fashion district, with bamboo yellow peep toe pump’s to seal the deal. The idea for the shoot comes from my dream of living in my closet full of colourful items and pretty pieces.

Patterns&Things

It’s funny when you put an outfit together how you can sometimes feel a distant gap between you and the materials, and other times an instant click. A sort of intensity only felt when finding a true friend. There could be a million choices yet none could compare to the honesty a true friend can hold. This look is that chemistry to my artistic side, the textures of the FCUK jean bustier, ruffed against a vintage sweater tank all held upon a silk floral undergarment (H&M), may leave the mass confused, but lead me into my happy place.

Thats Hot

This outfit is the right temperature of sexy chic. I put Catherine in a lacy one piece paired with pleather hot pants and finished the look with a vintage wool blazer. The picture was taken amongst a few of my favourite pictures of Toronto annex area, and looking outward towards the downtown streets of Winnipeg. A metaphor of what I love and where I’m from.
